Varment Guard Environmental Services, Inc. was founded in January 1983 by James J. Vaive and Michael A. Moore with a clear mission: deliver environmentally conscious and humane wildlife control and pest management solutions that protect people, property, and the animals we manage. What began in Columbus, Ohio has grown into a trusted national resource for wildlife and bird control.
In 2018, Varment Guard began a new chapter by joining the Plunkett's Pest Control family — a Midwest-based, family-owned company that has provided world-class pest control service for over 100 years. Together, we combine Varment Guard's deep wildlife and bird control specialization with Plunkett's century of pest management leadership, giving commercial and industrial clients access to unmatched experience and resources.
Our commercial bird control division is built for the demands of facility managers, property managers, operations managers, plant managers, EHS professionals, and national account managers. We design and install engineered bird exclusion, netting, and deterrent systems for warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, food processors, retail properties, parking garages, office complexes, airports, and multi-site portfolios.

Founded in 1915 in Minneapolis, Plunkett's Pest Control has been family-owned and operated for more than a century. The O'Reilly family has led Plunkett's for 92 of those 100 years, building a reputation for reliable service, customer care, and proven expertise across the Midwest and beyond.
The 2018 merger brought together two highly regarded, family-owned companies united by shared values: take care of clients, take care of employees, and never stop improving.
