Bird Control for Stadiums & Arenas

Large-span bird netting and deterrent systems for stadiums, arenas, and event venues.

Overview

Stadiums, arenas, and event venues are among the hardest structures to bird-proof. Open concourses, exposed structural steel, cable-supported roofs, and spans that can exceed 100 feet give pigeons, starlings, sparrows, and gulls an enormous amount of protected perching and nesting real estate directly above seating bowls and food service. Exclusion has to be engineered — not simply installed — so that netting carries wind and snow load, hardware never contacts architecturally exposed steel in a visible way, and every phase of work fits between events. We design large-span systems with tensioned perimeter cable, stainless attachment hardware rated for the structure, and flame-resistant knotted polyethylene netting that stays taut across truss bays and open concourse ceilings for the life of the installation.

Common Bird Problems

  • Pigeons and starlings nesting under seating decks, catwalks, and structural overhangs
  • Droppings in seating bowls, on handrails, and throughout premium and club spaces
  • Bird activity above concession stands, kitchens, and open food service
  • Gulls scavenging in the bowl and on concourses during and after events
  • Nesting and debris in roof drains, gutters, and expansion joints
  • Corrosion and staining on exposed structural steel and architectural finishes

Operational Concerns

  • Guest experience and event-day readiness
  • Sanitation and health-department compliance in food and beverage areas
  • Aesthetics of premium, club, and suite spaces
  • Working at height over seating with rope access and lift equipment
  • Wind, snow, and seismic load on large-span netting systems
  • Migratory Bird Treaty Act compliance during nesting season

Recommended Solutions

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Work is scheduled around the venue calendar and coordinated with facility operations, typically in phases during the off-season or in the open days between events so seating and concourses are returned to event-ready condition before doors open.
